3 Reasons why you need to be leveraging social media.

Social Media, you’ve probably heard of it. Your friends may be on Facebook or Twitter or one of the other countless platforms. Most people use Social Media to share videos or tweet pictures of their new-born or even making their friends jealous of their holiday pictures.

However, there are a lot of people making HUGE returns from social media. You’re probably reading this because you are a business owner who has maybe ‘tried’ using Facebook for your business and decided that it doesn’t work. In fact, if you are B2C business or even B2B in some case, social media is for you.

For the purpose of this blog we are going to focus on B2C (business to consumer) businesses. As we mentioned before, there are plenty of traditional Brick and Mortar businesses embracing the digital world and they are seeing their turnover grow to new levels. We hear countlessly from business owners who say that social media isn’t for them and that their customers aren’t on there. There are over 1 Billion active Facebook users across the world and over 40 Million active users in the UK alone. Unless your business is incredibly niche then your customers are waiting to be sold to, your competitors are already selling to them and ultimately, you’re leaving thousands of pounds on the table.

Social Proof

Did you know that over 70% of millennials will check your social media before they decide whether to buy your products or services. Let’s use the examples of hospitality businesses (restaurants, bars and hotels).  Your Facebook page is one of the first places a customer will visit. Facebook is the holy grail for local businesses. People can find local recommendations, see your reviews, see what your customers are saying about you. If your Facebook page is optimised correctly, they will know what type of venue you are, what’s on your menu, what are your offers, how to contact you and how to visit you. It is important that prospective customers can trust that you provide a good service, the main way they’ll do this is by checking your recommendations.
